Benefit from advertising with BIATX

BIATX has proved itself to be a strong partner and the leading organization advocating for individuals with brain injury and their families.

  • We successfully advocated in the 2011 Texas Legislature for the re-dedication of Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services funding.
  • We successfully advocated in the 2011 Texas Legislature for funds to remove the CRS waiting list, $2.75 million for the bi-ennium. This directly contributed to more Texans being served by the CRS program in your facility.
  • We successfully advocated for additional appropriations in the 2007 Texas Legislature. As a result, the Legislature has appropriated $12.799 million to serve consumers in the CRS program. Additionally the Texas Legislature appropriated $3.112 million from General Revenue funds to address the CRS waiting list.
  • We established a grass roots legislative outreach through the biatx.org web site that was highly effective during the legislative session.
  • We strengthened our alliances with various advocacy groups including the Texas Traumatic Brain Injury Advisory Council, Advocacy Inc, The Coalition of Texans with Disabilities, The Disability Policy Consortium and many others who share our goals.
  • We upgraded and improved our information and referral response through the use of Hasting Communications answering service. A majority of calls to BIATX are looking for funding resources and providers in their areas.
  • We upgraded the biatx.org web site to include more on-line publications, a provider listing and details about state resources for funding. We are currently receiving over 1600 unique visitors per month (data from March 2008), most or whom are looking for resources and providers.
